Slow, Expensive

Standard Oil change: Just over 2 hours, $40, on a Friday morning. They didn't seem busy and I made an appointment which I was 15 minutes late for.. take that for what it is. Still, 2 hours and $40 seems pretty excessive to me for an oil change.

these people have several variations of the same construction company name. i did good work for them as a sub contractor, and they refuse to pay me. i wasnt the 1st either. someone had started the job remodeling a kitchen before my company got hired. they flip houses. now that i have a lien on the property, they decided to rent it because they are unable to sell it with liens on it. im sure there are more than mine. the property address is 4155 iron horse trail in colorado springs. hopefully you are not the unlucky ones renting it now.

A sure thing

I just raved about a shop on the east side of town (http://beta.coloradolocalfirst.com/node/865155) and felt I should represent with a review from the west side, too: Ah, Perfect Petal. How I love thee. I was afraid when you merged into the space of your former sister store, POSH, that your amazing floral shop would eclipse our access to the quirky, unique home decor, personal accessories, and "gifties" that I so loved. But, no. You are the best of both of those worlds and I remain a stalwart fan of your people and your products. And a big shout out to whosoever chooses your ribbon inventory.

Always Friendly & Helpful

Tell us about your experience:

I absolutely love this store! Every time I enter, I am *sincerely* greeted by a very friendly staff. Everyone I have encountered is quite helpful and knowledgible. It seems like to project is too big or tricky for them to give advice on. As for selection, Ace Hardware @ Alameda Station has had just about everything I've needed. Once, just once, I was looking for a part that they didn't stock, and an employee recommended another Ace Hardware nearby saying that that location specialized in claw foot tub accessories. =D

I pass by two other Ace Hardware locations on my way home from work each day, yet I go out of my way (just a wee bit) to go to this Ace Hardware location. The service is simply outstanding!

An amazing theatre experience!

Tell us about your experience:

Last night I attended Vintage Theatre's production of A Streetcar Named Desire, my first show at the theatre. It most certainly won't be my last! The performance was...thrilling...heartwrenching...raw. I think some folks are afraid that small theatre productions will be lacking in some way - but there wasn't a single audience member last night who didn't cringe while Stanley screamed at Stella, or who felt helplessly transported by Blanche's journey into madness.

We were able to watch the show from the front row - such an intimate experience! I could smell the fried chicken and beer that Stanley consumed.

Wow. I can't recommend Vintage Theatre enough. For only $17, you MUST go see a show. Bravo!

hooray for an overall excellent experience!

i recently did a bit o bike shopping in several local bike shops and found myself trying to settle for a so-so bike and customer service that spoke above my head, until i went to turin. my salesperson asked basic questions about my bike needs, habits, and budget and set me up with THE GREATEST BIKE EVER! okay, but seriously, i found the perfect fit. in addition, he threw in a free water bottle AND after the shop gave the bike its pre-sale tune-up and it was ready to roll, my salesperson came over to the coffee shop next door where we were waiting to fetch us.

i have to admit, that though there are gems like my salesperson working there, some of the staff is very elitist. however, one thing that you WILL find every time is that these people know their stuff and they do god work.

Excellent customer service and good selection

Tell us about your experience:

Living in Lakewood, I've shopped at Mile High Wine and Spirits on numerous occasions. Not only is the store airy and bright (it's the least-scary liquor store I've ever been to) but they have a great selection of wine and beer at good prices. They even label which beers are from Colorado, which I love! But to top it all off, I have only ever had excellent experiences with their staff. Any of them will stop to ask if you need assistance, provide recommendations, and the guys will even help me pull items off the upper shelves. (I'm short, what I can say?)

Golden's Independent Book Seller

There are so few of these precious gems left in America. To have an independent bookstore in our town is a great value to our community. Craig and his staff are truely friends. The book selection is broad and ecclectic, allowing for a wide range of tastes. The childrens section is stocked full of classic and modern childrens books for your little ones. Drop in for coffee and have a seat on the couch for a while and enjoy a good book.

Fantastic Food!

Beet box has some of the most delicious and creative recipes for any local food business. I am blown away by the variety and quality of their food. Not many businesses are able to cater to such a wide market and customer base that many other places don’t even recognize exist. They specialize in vegetarian and vegan food with many gluten free options. I have seen them working hard at many events dishing up gourmet food that is so healthy! Many have wanted this type of business in Denver for a long time. Wait no longer!

Delicious cakes and kosher special orders!

Reviewed Business:
Tell us about your experience:

Alpine Pastries was my sister's first choice for her wedding cake in 2004. Even if it hadn't been, the tasting would have won us over. We enjoyed exquisite wedding and grooms cakes the day of the wedding; then, for the first anniversary, Alpine Pastries offers a small freshly-made cake to the couple as an alternative to freezing a slice of the wedding cake for a year. Photos of their cakes from customers adorn the store and many residents can point out cakes they've ordered or enjoyed at local celebrations.

In addition to their regular selection of cakes, pies, and pastries (my husband swears their Berliners taste just like the ones he enjoyed in Germany as a serviceman), they are the source in Evergreen for challah, hamantaschen, and honey cakes.
