It is such a warm and inviting place - my number one choice to meet my friends and a place simply to relax. And not to mention, one of the few places that serve homemade Hummus and stuffed grape leaves. Every visit to Gypsy uplifts my spirit.

Ordering fresh produce online was easier than I thought. They labeled the local items so that I could choose more of those, and then they delivered the items right to my home. I wasn't home for delivery and they have nice, reusable containers with ice packs. The produce was delicious, and with this service I think my family will start eating more fruits and veggies!

This company employs young punk kids that they allow to drive the company vehicles. I was inch from getting plowed into, I was at a dead stop and the truck was traveling at about 60 MPH. He didn’t even hit his brakes as he nicked my side mirror. I proceed on my way to work and as I came to the last light before by turn I noticed that I was going to be stopping right next to the truck that nearly plowed into me. So I got my cell phone out and took down all the information from the side of the vehicle, as I did this the two punks in the truck started throwing their hands up in the air and shouting “What you gonna do? Call! That’s fine; nothing is going to happen to me! So go ahead and call you f***ing bi**h!” Then the light turned green and I proceed to work, once at work I called the company. I had to leave a message and never received a call back! So I ask you, is this the type of company you want to do business with?

i love the patio seating. i love that they offer beer in addition to tea & coffee. i don't love the cold feel of this place. it's deadly silent and usually very quiet. it's a great place for working (i don't know the wifi situation) or reading, but not great for meeting friends.

hooked is such a welcoming place. it's cheery, full of ever-changing art, and has an amazing selection of local microbrews. yes, beer. since there is always some music or white noise, this is a great place to meet with friends have a conversation without being "that loud person." the service is friendly, the tea is fab, and it's a feel-good place. oh wait - and lots of easy-to-reach power outlets and free wifi. yay!

this place is dark, a little gritty, and completely awesome. the food is SO good and you wouldn't expect it in a place like this. though it is bar food, someone in the kitchen seriously cares about flavors. and it's great for vegetarian options too.
i do second the comment about it getting crowded and territorial. if you're there for sunday brunch $5 carafes of mimosas, get there early or prepare to stand around. people who get seats are there for hours.

Me Love Mee Krop

First of all, the atmosphere is fabulous in this little place. Of course, it's nice that it's part of a one of those little strips of excitement along E 17th Ave. Once you're past the counter and in the dining room, prepare to be treated kindly and fed well. I love that this place make vegetarian eating simple. There is a wide variety of dishes that offer tofu as part of the meat menu (not some special request). We have come to love the Mee Krop in combo with the Thai Curry. And here's the key - we wouldn't have known that if our server hadn't told us about it. This guy is great! And he knows how to recommend a beer too. Ah, I love this place.

This is the one of the best coffee houses in Denver - designed with the customer in mind! The drinks are great and reasonably priced and the atmosphere is everything you could ask for. I could spend hours in the back room on a couch with a book or chatting with friends over coffee. They have free wi-fi and big booths to sit in as well. The bathrooms are fantastic as well, unlike other places where they seem to be an afterthought, or downright scary.

Great for food, not for work.

Pros: Yummy food. Seriously. I recommend the mac 'n cheese, the Vietnamese sandwich, and the sweet potato fries. The kitchen is open late, so it's great when you're starving at midnight. Cheap specials for Happy Hour too. $1 fries & $2 sweet potato fries + 1 dipping sauce. I recommend the vegan wasabi mayo. Also, there's always inexpensive beer on tap + creative tails.
Super friendly staff. Always cheerful. They never leave you for long, so you'll always have coffee refills or another beer on the way.
Cons: As for fellow customers, beware that Sputnik's gets busy on Friday nights. I've been carelessly pushed out of the way by people with drinks in hand accompanied by pompous attitudes. Oh and folks are pretty adamant on keeping their spot at the bar. I've had people make eye contact with me, then push their elbows over to prevent me from having enough space to order. After 20 minutes of waiting, I left. So basically, don't expect it to be easy to get a drink on a busy night. -One last note, I've been charged a higher price for my drink than what it said on the menu on more than one occasion.
More Cons: Be aware that this is much more a bar than a coffee shop, even during the day. (Though they do have nice coffee and great brunch on the weekends.) It's just a bit too dark and loud (from the music as well as fellow patrons) to get much work done let alone talk with the person next to you. The darkness does mean low glare, however. Lastly, there's free WiFi, but good luck finding an an outlet for your laptop.
Overall review: I live quite close to Sputnik, so I'll certainly be back... but only for the food. I like them... a LOT. I just realized that I've had more negative experiences than positive ones.

A New Coffee Shop Gem: solid quality from food to service

Allegro Coffee: in'. -I used to roast Allegro... and it's still one of my favorite coffees. I've had what feels like a lifetime worth of bad espresso, and I must say that both varieties that Allegro offers are absolutely wonderful. Thanks for the quality espresso, folks.
Service: Friendly & informative. Knowledgeable about food allergies & their products. Open to vendor suggestions. Very nice!
Atmosphere: Clean, funky, a bit newish & I think that it could be worn in a bit more. A bit too sterile, despite the fresh flowers on the tables. Free WiFi w/lots of outlets. Spacious. Open late.
Other points of review:
Salmon salad: Yes. Quite enjoyable. (Not necessarily local though.)
Tomato Bisque: Yummy.
Caprese Sandwich: Delicious & melty!
Latte art: Thanks for taking the time to make me smile. That extra bit of work in making the top of my latte look like a heart is appreciated.
Booze too!! There's also a bar there, so I'm going to have to come back for a drink sometime!
